In this listing - 2 natural wish stones from a Nova Scotia beach.  A wish stone is a small smooth stone with a white unbroken line that runs the whole way around it.  Folklore has it that if you hold the stone in your hand, run your finger around the line and make a wish - your wish will come true.  We are not sure but the legend may be part of our Nova Scotian Celtic heritage.  I believe there is a seaside pillar of stone in Scotland that you put your hand on to make a wish.  Perhaps the wish stones became a connection to the Old Country by new settlers in our province.  Some say you should throw the stone in the ocean but that seems a shame considering they can be quite hard to find.  Others believe it is best to pass your favorite wish stone on to a friend.  I like ones like these because they can also be "worry stones"  just something pleasant to hold on to and rub when you are feeling sad or anxious.   I have also talked to folks who believe they can be used as Chakra stones to help balance one or more of the body's 7 Chakras.  We have some on our window sills and in little glass dishes throughout our log home.  The grandkids love to play with  them and are always very gentle and respectfull when they put them back.  I have put 2 nice ones in this lot .  The largest is 21/4" X 2" and the smaller one is 1 1/2" X 1".  We give our stones a very light coat of Walnut oil to give them a nice sheen that lasts for a long time.  The oil is all natural and food safe.  (glass tray not included in lot).
